Friends of Athelstan Museum members are the backbone of the museum. There are over 180 of them. Most come from Malmesbury but others from further afield – Australia is the furthest.
For a modest subscription £10 p.a. or £100 life membership they enjoy quarterly newsletters and are invited to the preview nights for our exhibitions and to lectures. The latest preview was on Friday 26th March 2010 before the opening of the Carnival in Lace exhibition. Recent lectures included 'The archaeology of Coast' by Prof Mark Horton and 'Aldhelm the greatest Englishman ever' by Jim Gunter.
Nor do we neglect to enjoy ourselves; Mull at the Museum, usually held just after Christmas is a perennial favourite.
Why not join us? Or give a subscription to a friend or relative – it is a good way to keep in touch with the town.
