2025 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway. The “Railway 200” celebrations will feature a variety of activities and events to showcase rail’s remarkable past, its role today, and its importance to a sustainable future.
Here in Malmesbury is a chance to revisit the history of our own railway and its impact on the town. Our exhibition will include a 00 scale model of the locomotive “Malmesbury Abbey” and the chance to view the film of “The last days of the Railway in Malmesbury” on our digital tablet.
Alongside the exhibition, on 14th-17th March 2025 a scale model of Malmesbury Station in 1930 will be on display in the Rausing Building. Check the “What’s on” entry for full information.
