Tickets available in Museum and online
Bill Reed & Mike Lewis will tell us about this very unusual artifact – how it came to be in our collection and its context in the life of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Bill has lived in Malmesbury for over 40 years. He is the leader of the Museum’s award-winning “Malmesbury Voices” spoken memory project.
He was intrigued by the lock of Napoleon’s hair in the Museum’s collection. This led him to the story of Napoleon after Waterloo, and the original owner of this lock of hair.
Mike Lewis has researched the more recent provenance of the lock of hair.
