The War Detectives – What do they do & how do they do it?
Alexia Clark – Ministry of Defence
A new take on the important work of the MOD. Alexia Clark will explain her vital work in the recovery and identification of WW1 soldier Henry Ashton whose final burial is taking place this week and the rededication of Corporal John Alfred Owen who died in Italy during WW2 and was buried at the time but was only identified last year.
Painstaking detective work using DNA, artefacts and archival records allows the Detectives Team to identify and honour these war heroes from both World Wars and others involved in subsequent conflicts.
The MOD War Detectives are a small team who are tasked with identifying missing British service personnel from World War One, World War Two and the Korean War. Join Alexia Clark from the Ministry of Defence to find out more about this important work.
