During the second half of the 19th century about five hundred people migrated to Cleveland, Ohio from the English country town of Malmesbury. Several of them played crucial roles in the early development of the oil industry becoming partners or bitter rivals of J D Rockefeller.
Following the Museum’s publication of her book in 2019, Sue Poolman will put her more recent discoveries into context and will talk about how the story has relevance to Malmesbury today.
